Armando Christian Pérez, known by his stage name Pitbull and also as Mr. 305 and Mr. Worldwide, is an influential American rapper, singer, and actor born on January 15, 1981. Pitbull began his career in the early 2000s, focusing on reggaeton, Latin hip-hop, and crunk. He signed with TVT Records and released his debut album, *M.I.A.M.I.* (2004), executive-produced by Lil Jon. This album and his follow-ups, *El Mariel* (2006) and *The Boatlift* (2007), gained moderate success on the Billboard 200. Pitbull’s breakthrough came with his fourth album, *Pitbull Starring in Rebelution* (2009), featuring hits like “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” and “Hotel Room Service,” which reached No. 2 and No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Transitioning into a pop sound, his sixth and seventh albums, *Planet Pit* (2011) and *Global Warming* (2012), brought massive success. *Planet Pit* included his first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1, “Give Me Everything” (featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack, and Nayer), while *Global Warming* featured the popular “Feel This Moment” (with Christina Aguilera). His 2013 hit “Timber” (featuring Kesha) topped charts globally, followed by “Time of Our Lives” (with Ne-Yo) in 2014, which led his eighth album, *Globalization*. That year, he also performed “We Are One (Ole Ola)” (with Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte) as the 2014 FIFA World Cup anthem. Additionally, Pitbull appeared on hits like Enrique Iglesias's “I Like It,” Usher's “DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love,” and Jennifer Lopez's “On the Floor.” While *Dale* (2015) and *Climate Change* (2017) saw more modest success, his 2019 album, *Libertad 548*, marked his first independent release and returned to Latin hip-hop roots with singles like “No Lo Trates” (featuring Daddy Yankee and Natti Natasha). In 2023, his twelfth album, *Trackhouse*, leaned further into Latin influences. Having sold over 25 million albums and 100 million singles worldwide, Pitbull’s music has garnered over 15 billion YouTube views as of 2020. Billboard ranked him the 45th Top Artist and 24th Top Latin Artist of the 2010s. In addition to music, Pitbull has been active as a brand ambassador, philanthropist in Latino communities, owner of SiriusXM's *Pitbull’s Globalization* radio station, and a co-owner of NASCAR’s Trackhouse Racing team. By 2019, Pitbull had won 35 Billboard Latin Music Awards, marking his significant impact on Latin and pop music. -
