      Rod Stewart Background

Sir Roderick David Stewart was born in 1945 in Highgate, London, England. Like many English children, he was interested in football, or soccer, as a child. He wanted to become a professional player, so much so that that’s all he focused on until he was 15-years old. When he tried out for professional teams, however, he didn’t receive a response, and turned to the only other thing he knew how to do, singing.

He played with several bands during his youth and took up the nickname, Rod the Mod. He ultimately pursued a solo career, and his album known as, Every Picture Tells a Story, became a US and UK hit simultaneously. From there, his career really picked up, and his music started to be heard across radio stations around the UK.

      Rod Stewart’s Greatest Hits

Rod Stewart has been likened to the popularity of David Bowie in his time, so he definitely has many great hits to his name. Some of his most popular songs are “Reason to Believe”, “You Wear it Well”, “You’re in My Heart", “Love” and “Have I Told You Lately”.
