Tajpaul Singh Chowdhry, better known as Paul Chowdhry, was born on August 21, 1974, and is an English comedian and actor of Indian Punjabi Sikh descent. He started his stand-up career in 1998 and became widely known after hosting Channel 4's *Stand Up for the Week* from its fifth series, having been a regular in earlier seasons. In 2003, Chowdhry made history as the first British comedian to perform at the Caribbean Comedy Festival in Trinidad.
He has appeared on several popular TV shows, including *8 out of 10 Cats*, *Comedy World Cup*, and *Sorry, I Didn't Know*. Additionally, Chowdhry has performed on *Live at the Apollo* twice, in 2012 and 2015, and was a contestant on the third series of *Taskmaster* in 2016. In 2017, he sold out Wembley Arena, becoming the first British Asian comedian to achieve this feat.
Beyond comedy, Paul Chowdhry appeared in the television drama *Devils* in 2020, and since 2021, he has hosted his own podcast, *The Paul Chowdhry PudCast*, where he interviews fellow comedians. Known for his signature phrase "what's happening white people?" at the start of his stand-up routines, Chowdhry has made a significant mark on the British comedy scene.
